School Orientation courses provide students with an introduction to the culture of their school so that they understand staff expectations and the school’s structure and conventions. These courses may vary according to the philosophy, aims, and methods of each school.

High School Advisory
Students are introduced to the basic framework and structures of working online at the high school level. The basics of navigating courses, completing work, and communicating with teachers are covered. Students are introduced to attendance and monthly review procedures. Once per month, students are asked to reflect on their goals, progress, and habits via an electronic submission before completing the direct monthly review with the homeroom instructor. At semester end, the students are asked to reflect on the goals set at the beginning of the year and their academic and non-academic achievements. At year-end, students are asked to reflect on their year with CVA and plan for the following school year.
