ALE REQUIREMENTS

CVA operates under Washington State Law governing Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) programs. All ALE's in Washington State must meet the following requirements.

THERE ARE FOUR STATE REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL ALE STUDENTS:

1. WRITTEN STUDENT LEARNING PLAN (WSLP)

The WSLP will be your map to success for your student's education. With professional assistance from your CVA teacher, you will determine the most effective means of instruction for each academic subject. Course curriculum may include a varied selection of instructional materials such as textbooks, workbooks, audio/visual aids, manipulatives, etc..

2. WEEKLY CONTACT

This is a documented communication between the student and the CVA teacher each week. Oftentimes this is handled via phone or email.

3. YEARLY ASSESSMENT

With CVA you have a choice of several different yearly assessments.

4. MONTHLY REVIEWS

These are status checks on your student's progress.
